On April 16 1803, is born Charles Antoine LeCoultre in Le Sentier, Valle de Joux.
Descendant of Pierre LeCoultre, established in Le Sentier in 1559, from Lizy-sur-Ourcq, Paris, fleeing religious persecution in France. Charles Antoine LeCoultre, son of Jacques Le Coultre David and Louise Catherine. His father was dedicated to the manufacture of mechanical instruments, there Antoine, is formed as a metallurgist and specializes in the design of tools and mechanical parts.

LeCoultre & Co. in 1847. creates the first movement of pocket equipped with a system of rope and setting the time for the crown, this revolutionary new leaves outdated cargo through key.
